At OverDrive X our #1 goal is provide people of all ages a safe, high quality social and gaming environment. In order to guarantee this we strongly believe in adhering to the ESRB standards that have been set. ESRB is the Entertainment Software Rating Board. The ESRB sets a rating for every video game that is released based on its content

In addition to the ESRB we provide our own in-house policies on content. All PC’s will have the ability to gain access to the internet, but will be strictly monitored. To ensure no pornographic or other questionable content is accessed, a server has been setup to block 99% of these web sites. If this is not sufficient, then we have the ability to remove internet access completely from the station.

If you prefer that your child does not play games of a certain rating please notify us in advance. Once we are aware of content your child is allowed to view our system can limit their access to only the suitable content. If you have any questions please feel free to call us.

WHY DO KIDS PLAY VIDEO GAMES?

24 hr gaming is a no no, as is 24 hour studying, whats important to a childs developement is balance, a balance between homelife, school work and time with friends, both on and off the sportsfield.

However not everyone is blessed with the skills of a super athelete, some kids are naturally shy and don't like to be forced into things, but here at the shop its a level playing field, it doesnt matter if the person hes playing is 6ft 6inches and can drop kick field goals for the yankee's, what matters here is how you talk to people and the respect you give each other.

Computer games are a great way to meet people, here you get to know people and laugh alongside them, many many friendships have begun this way, now instead of your child sitting in his room on his own playing games he can now meet his existing friends and make new friends in doing something he enjoys. Now the difference is that your child is in a semi controlled environment, ok we can't stop all the badness in the world but we can and do eject people for not following the rules, we dont allow drugs or drink, we have a CCtv system for your kids protection as well as piece of mind, and we monitor/filter the internet usage so that people looking at things they shouldnt be doing, do so somewhere else.
